Type genus: ¤ Acidaminococcus Rogosa 1969 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. masc. n. Acidaminococcus, type genus of the family; suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Acidaminococcaceae, the Acidaminococcus family.
