Type genus: ¤ Actinopolyspora Gochnauer et al. 1975 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Actinopolyspora, type genus of the suborder; suff. -ineae, ending to denote a suborder; N.L. fem. pl. n. Actinopolysporineae, the Actinopolyspora suborder.
