Type species: ¤ Aestuariibaculum suncheonense Jeong et al. 2013.
Etymology: L. neut. n. aestuarium -i, tidal flat; L. neut. n. baculum, stick; N.L. neut. n. Aestuariibaculum, a rod-shaped bacterium isolated from a tidal flat.

Aestuariibaculum suncheonense Jeong et al. 2013, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)
Type strain: (see also Global Catalogue of Microorganisms) SC17 = JCM 17789 = KACC 16186.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: JF751043.
Etymology: N.L. neut. adj. suncheonense, of or pertaining to Suncheon, South Korea, from where the type strain was isolated.
