Amantichitinum ursilacus Moß et al. 2013, sp. nov. (Type species of the genus.)
Type strain: (see also Global Catalogue of Microorganisms) IGB-41 = CIP 110167 = DSM 23761.
Sequence accession no. (16S rRNA gene) for the type strain: FN994890.
Etymology: L. n. ursus, a bear; L. n. lacus, a lake; N.L. gen. n. ursilacus, of Bear Lake (Bärensee), a lake nearby Stuttgart, Germany, on the edge of which the strain was isolated.
