Type species: ¤ Amnibacterium kyonggiense Kim and Lee 2011.
Etymology: L. n. amnis -is, a river; L. neut. n. bacterium, a staff, rod; N.L. neut. n. Amnibacterium, a rod associated with a river.

Etymology: Gr. pref. endo, within; Gr. n. phyton, plant; L. neut. suff. -icum, adjectival suffix used with the sense of belonging to; N.L. neut. adj. endophyticum, within plant, endophytic, pertaining to the original isolation from plant tissues.
