Note: According to Suzuki et al. 1999 [1], the type strain (L1A = NCPPB 3152 = PDDCC 7127 = ATCC 33974= LMG 7352) of Clavibacter xyli Davis et al. 1984 is no more available from the authors of the species, the NCPPB, the ICMP (= the PDDCC), the ATCC, and the LMG. However, the strain ICMP 7127 seems available from the ICMP [2].

Notes:
1 The type strain (L1A = NCPPB 3152 = PDDCC 7127 = ATCC 33974= LMG 7352) of Clavibacter xyli subsp. xyli Davis et al. 1984 is no more available from the authors of the species, the NCPPB, the ICMP (= the PDDCC), the ATCC, and the LMG. In the opinion of Suzuki et al. 1999 [1], the subspecies Clavibacter xyli subsp. xyli automatically lost the taxonomic status. However this opinion is not sustained by the Bacteriological Code (1990 Revision) and the matter should be referred to the Judicial Commission [2].
