Etymology: L. pref. de, from; N.L. n. chlorinum (from Gr. adj. chlorôs, green), chlorine; N.L. pref. chloro-, pertaining to chlorine; L. fem. n. monas, unit, monad; N.L. fem. n. Dechloromonas, a dechlorinating monad.
