Etymology: L. pref. de, from; L. n. sulfur, sulfur; N.L. n. spora (from Gr. n. spora, a seed), spore; L. n. sinus, bend; N.L. masc. n. Desulfosporosinus, a spore-forming curved (organism) that reduces sulfur compounds.
