Type species: ¤ Eggerthella lenta (Eggerth 1935) Wade et al. 1999.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Eggerthella, named to honour Arnold Eggerth, who first described the organism later named Eubacterium lentum (Eggerth 1935).
