Etymology: Gr. n enteron, intestine; Gr. n. actis actinos, a ray; N.L. masc. n. coccus (from Gr. masc; n. kokkos, a grain or berry), coccus; N.L. masc. n. Enteractinococcus, intestinal and ray coccus.
