Nomenclatural type: ¤ Enterobacter Hormaeche and Edwards 1960 emend. Brady et al. 2013.
Etymology: N.L. n. Enterobacter, the type genus of the order; -ales, ending to denote an order; N.L. fem. pl. n. Enterobacterales, the order whose nomenclatural type is the genus Enterobacter.
