Flindersiella Kaewkla and Franco 2011, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Flindersiella endophytica Kaewkla and Franco 2011.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Flindersiella, named after Flinders University, signifying the site of the host tree from which the type strain originated.
Valid publication: KAEWKLA (O.) and FRANCO (C.M.M.): Flindersiella endophytica gen. nov., sp. nov., an endophytic actinobacterium isolated from the root of Grey Box, an endemic eucalyptus tree. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2011, 61, 2135-2140.

Etymology: Gr. pref. endo, within; Gr. n. phuton, plant; L. fem. suff. -ica, adjectival suffix used with the sense of belonging to; N.L. fem. adj. endophytica, within plant, endophytic, pertaining to the original isolation from plant tissue.
