Gallionellaceae Henrici and Johnson 1935, familia.
Type genus: ¤ Gallionella Ehrenberg 1838 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Gallionella, type genus of the family; suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Gallionellaceae, the Gallionella family.
