Notes:
1 In the paper by Sohn et al. 2004, the strain NBRC 100336 is erroneously cited as NBRC 1000336 (see, Erratum. Int. J. Syst. Evol. Microbiol., 2005, 55, 2639).
Reference: NAKAGAWA (Y.): Personal communication (September 16, 2005).
2 The strain KCTC 8814P is a patent strain. According to Rule 30 (4), organisms deposited in such a fashion that access is restricted, such as safe deposits or strains deposited solely for current patent purposes, may not serve as type strains. According to Rules 27(3) and 30, Kordia algicida Sohn et al. 2004 was not validly published because, at the time of publication, the type strain was not deposited in two publicly accessible service collections in different countries. However, according to the Judicial Opinion 81, Kordia algicida Sohn et al. 2004 is now considered to be validly published, since deposit (KACC 15108)  in a second culture collection in a different country has been documented.
