Type species: ¤ Krokinobacter genikus Khan et al. 2006.
Etymology: Gr. adj. krokinos, yellow; N.L. masc. n. bacter, rod; N.L. masc. n. Krokinobacter, a yellow, rod-like bacterium.

¤ Dokdonia Yoon et al. 2005

Note: Yoon et al. 2012 propose to transfer Krokinobacter genikus Khan et al. 2006, the type species of the genus Krokinobacter, to the genus ¤ Dokdonia as ¤ Dokdonia genika (Khan et al. 2006) Yoon et al. 2012, comb. nov. According to Rule 37a, bacteriologists adhering to this proposal must change the name Krokinobacter to ¤ Dokdonia.

Etymology: N.L. masc. adj. diaphorus (from Gr. masc. adj. diaphoros), different, unlike.
