Type species: ¤ Leeuwenhoekiella marinoflava (Reichenbach 1989) Nedashkovskaya et al. 2005.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Leeuwenhoekiella, named in honour of the famous Dutchman Antonie van Leeuwenhoek (1632-1723), discoverer of micro-organisms.
