Leptotrichia Trevisan 1879, genus. (Type genus of the family ¤ Leptotrichiaceae Staley and Whitman 2012).
Type species: ¤ Leptotrichia buccalis (Robin 1853) Trevisan 1879 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: Gr. adj. leptos, fine, small; Gr. fem. n. thrix thricos, hair; N.L. fem. n. Leptotrichia, fine hair.
