Etymology: L. n. litus -oris, the seashore, coast; L. n. sedimen -inis, sediment; L. suff. -cola (from L. n. incola), inhabitant; N.L. masc. n. Litorisediminicola, an inhabitant of coastal sediment, referring to the source of the organism.
