Type species: ¤ Methyloligella halotolerans Doronina et al. 2014.
Etymology: Fr. n. methyle, the methyl group; N.L. pref. methylo-, pertaining to the methyl radical; Gr. adj. oligos, little, not copious, scanty; L. dim. ending -ella, little; N.L. fem. dim. n. Methyloligella, intended to mean a bacterium with limited nutritional properties by C1-compounds.
