Type species: ¤ Persicirhabdus sediminis Yoon et al. 2008.
Etymology: L. n. persicum, a peach; N.L. fem. n. rhabdus (from Gr. fem. n. rhabdos), a rod; N.L. fem. n. Persicirhabdus, peach-coloured rod, because the colonies are peach-coloured.
