Type species: ¤ Phaseolibacter flectens (Johnson 1956) Halpern et al. 2013.
Etymology: L. n. phaseolus, a kind of bean with an edible pod and also a botanical genus name; N.L. masc. n. bacter, a rod; N.L. masc. n. Phaseolibacter, a rod isolated from French bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.).
