Etymology: Gr. adj. pseudes, false; L. fem. n. Aeromonas, a bacterial genus; N.L. fem. n. Pseudaeromonas, a false Aeromonas .

Etymology: N.L. gen. n. paramecii, of the ciliate protozoan genus Paramecium, the source of the organism.

Etymology: N.L. neut. n. pectinum, pectin; N.L. fem. adj. lytica (from Gr. fem. adj. lytikê), able to loosen, able to dissolve; N.L. fem. adj. pectinilytica, dissolving pectin.

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. sharmana named in honour of Dr Manju Sharma, a biologist and a great proponent of research on microbial diversity in India.
