Note: Quadricoccus Maszenan et al. 2002 is illegitimate because of precedence of the algal genus Quadricoccus Fott 1948 [Principle 2, Rule 51b(4)].

¤ Quatrionicoccus Tindall and Euzéby 2006, gen. nov.

Note: The name Quadricoccus Maszenan et al. 2002 is illegitimate because of precedence of the algal genus name, Quadricoccus Fott 1948 [Principle 2, Rule 51b(4)]. Consequently, a new genus designation ¤ Quatrionicoccus has been proposed by Tindall and Euzéby 2006.
