Type species: ¤ Quadrisphaera granulorum Maszenan et al. 2005.
Etymology: L. pref. numer. adj. quadr-, four; L. fem. n. sphaera, a ball, globe, sphere; N.L. fem. n. quadrisphaera, fourfold balls, coccus in tetrad.
