Type genus: ¤ Synergistes Allison et al. 1993.
Etymology: N.L. masc. n. Synergistes, type genus of the order; suff. -aceae, ending denoting a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Synergistaceae, the family of the genus Synergistes.
