Type species: ¤ Tangfeifania diversioriginum Liu et al. 2014.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Tangfeifania, named in honour of Tang Feifan (1897–1958), a Chinese microbiologist who was the first scientist to successfully isolate and culture Chlamydia trachomatis.
