Type species: ¤ Thioalbus denitrificans Park et al. 2011.
Etymology: Gr. n. theion (Latin transliteration thium), sulfur; L. masc. adj. albus, white; N.L. masc. n. Thioalbus, intended to mean a bacterium which oxidizes thiosulfate and whose colonies are white.
