Etymology: Gr. n. theion (Latin transliteration thium), sulfur; N.L. n. Pseudomonas, from Gr. adj. pseudo, false; Gr. n. monas, a unit, monad; Thiopseudomonas, an organism with a false single unit and sulfur.
