Trabulsiella McWhorter et al. 1992, gen. nov.
Type species: ¤ Trabulsiella guamensis McWhorter et al. 1992.
Etymology: N.L. fem. dim. n. Trabulsiella, named to honor L.R. Trabulsi, a Brazilian bacteriologist who did many important studies on the enteric pathogens of the family Enterobacteriaceae.

Etymology: N.L. fem. adj. guamensis, pertaining to Guam, the largest island of the Micronesian group of the Pacific Ocean, where the first strains were isolated.

Etymology: N.L. n. Odontotermes, the scientific name of a genus of termite; N.L. gen. n. odontotermitis, of a termite of the genus Odontotermes.
