Type species: ¤ Tuberibacillus calidus Hatayama et al. 2006.
Etymology: L. n. tuber, swelling; L. masc. n. bacillus, a small staff; N.L. masc. n. Tuberibacillus, a small staff with a swelling.

Etymology: L. masc. adj. calidus, hot, due to their growth temperature.
