Vibrionaceae Véron 1965, familia.
Type genus: ¤ Vibrio Pacini 1854 (Approved Lists 1980).
Etymology: N.L. masc. n. Vibrio, type genus of the family; L. suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Vibrionaceae, the Vibrio family.
