Waddliaceae Rurangirwa et al. 1999, fam. nov.
Type genus: ¤ Waddlia Rurangirwa et al. 1999.
Etymology: N.L. fem. n. Waddlia, type genus of the family; L. suff. -aceae, ending to denote a family; N.L. fem. pl. n. Waddliaceae, the Waddlia family.
Valid publication: RURANGIRWA (F.R.), DILBECK (P.M.), CRAWFORD (T.B.), McGUIRE (T.C.) and McELWAIN (T.F.): Analysis of the 16S rRNA gene of micro-organism WSU 86-1044 from an aborted bovine foetus reveals that it is a member of the order Chlamydiales: proposal of Waddliaceae fam. nov., Waddlia chondrophila gen. nov., sp. nov. Int. J. Syst. Bacteriol., 1999, 49, 577-581.
