Faenia is the correct name if this genus is regarded as a separate genus.
According to Kurup and Agre, the genus name Faenia is a Latin feminine plural name. However, according to Rule 10a, the name of a genus must be a substantive, or an adjective used as a substantive, in the singular number. Consequently, Faenia Kurup and Agre 1983 could be regarded as not in accordance with the rules of the ICNP. Moreover, the Latin noun faenum is in the neuter gender and the plural nominative should be faena (without i).Publication:
