Name: Leifsonella Gtari et al. 2025
Etymology: Leif.so.nel’la. N.L. fem. n. Leifsonia, named after Einar Leifson (1895-1978), for his contributions to bacterial taxonomy; L. fem. dim. n. suff. -ella, diminutive ending; N.L. fem. dim. n. Leifsonella, the smaller Leifsonia, to distinguish this genus from Leifsonia, also named in his honour, and reflects its phylogenetic separation
