Etymology: Mas.si.li.i.ma’li.a. N.L. fem. n. Massiliimalia, combination of the Latin name of Marseille where the type strain was first isolated, and Mali, referring to the country of birth of the first scientist who successfully cultivated type strain Marseille-P2963T
