Name: Neochroococcus Geng and Yu 2021
Etymology: Ne.o.chro.o.coc.cus. N.L. masc. n. Neochroococcus, The name of new genus was chosen because it was more closely related to Chroococcus ‘sensu stricto’ than to Eucapsis.
