🧍 According to the Judicial Commission [2], further taxonomic studies have shown that there is reason to consider the names Sinorhizobium Chen et al. 1988 and Ensifer Casida 1982 to be synonyms, and the Rules of the Bacteriological Code indicate that the principle of priority would result in the members of the genus Sinorhizobium being transferred to the genus Ensifer, as proposed by J.M. Young 2003 [1].

💁 Taxonomists who have recently focused on this group are the corresponding authors of Rincon-Rosales et al. (2009), Yan et al. (2016). Editors in search of reviewers are advised to consider additional criteria such as whether a taxon is covered by one of the ICSP subcommittees.
❗ Sinorhizobium is the correct name instead if this genus is regarded as a separate genus (i.e., if its nomenclatural type is not assigned to another genus whose name is validly published, legitimate and not rejected and has priority).
🧬 The phylogenomic assignment score of this taxon is 0.06410 (N = 22).
