Etymology: Si.vo.ne.ni.el’la. N.L. fem. dim. n. Sivoneniella, named in honour of Prof. Emerita Kaarina Sivonen, a Finnish microbiologist, mentor, colleague and friend, who dedicated her career to the study of cyanobacterial toxins and bioactive metabolites
