Etymology: Dia.phe.ro.tri’tes. Gr. v. diaphero, to differ; Gr. masc. adj. tritos, the third; N.L. fem. pl. n. Diapherotrites, the 3rd HSM group discovered. A higher taxonomic unit comprising the genus Iainarchaeum [probably better: Diapherotritae]
