🧍 According to Abraham et al. 1999, Caulobacter crescentus Poindexter 1964 (Approved Lists 1980) is a later heterotypic synonym of Caulobacter vibrioides Henrici and Johnson 1935 (Approved Lists 1980). Moore et al. (1978) [1] reported the DNA-DNA homology between the type strain Caulobacter vibrioides CB51 and the type strain Caulobacter crescentus CB2 to be 97%, but they did not formally propose Caulobacter crescentus to be synonymous with Caulobacter vibrioides.Publication:
