(2018) about the suitability of chemotaxonomic characters failed to distinguish between plesiomorphic and apomorphic character states. Nouioui et al. (2018) provided an alternative interpretation of the character-state distribution in Turicella and Corynebacterium and concluded that the data do not indicate a weakness of the studied chemotaxonomic characters.
