Name: "Candidatus Pantoea carbekii" Bansal et al. 2014
Etymology: N.L. gen. masc./fem. n. carbekii, the proposed species name combines the last names of Drs. Maureen Carter and E. Richard Hoebeke who were the first entomologists to document the American invasion of H. halys
