. JUDICIAL OPINION 68: Designation of strain B213c (DSM 20284) in place of strain NCDO 1859 as the type strain of Pediococcus acidilactici Lindner 1887. Int. J. Syst. Bacteriol. 1996; 46:835.
Anonymous. Notification list. Notification that new names and new combinations have appeared in volume 46, part 3 of the IJSB. Int J Syst Bacteriol 1996; 46:1191. Notes:
However, these authors also indicate that the question of whether Pediococcus lolii and Pediococcus acidilactici are to be treated as heterotypic synonyms depends on the availability of biological material corresponding with the original description of Pediococcus lolii by Doi et al. 2009 .
It would appear that type material of Pediococcus lolii corresponding with the data published by Doi et al. (2009) is currently not available from culture collections . — Tindall BJ. Personal communication, 2013-02-18.
The type strain cited in the Approved Lists (the strain ATCC 33314 = DSM 20333 = JCM 5885 = NCDO 1859) seems to belong in the species Pediococcus pentosaceus.
According to Wieme et al. (2012), this species is an earlier heterotypic synonym of Pediococcuslolii Doi et al. 2009.Publication:

The phylogenomic assignment score of this taxon is 0.02290 (N = 24).
