Etymology: hu.a.ku’i.i. N.L. gen. masc. n. huakuii, of Huakui, named in honor of Huakui Chen, a Chinese professor of soil microbiology, who is the pioneer in investigating the microsymbionts isolated from Astragalus sinicus
