Etymology: di.a.ri.zo.nae. N.L. gen. fem. n. arizonae, of Arizona; N.L. gen. fem. n. diarizonae, the prefix di-, underlines that this subspecies encompasses the diphasic serovars previously included in the species Salmonella arizonae ("subgenus III" of Kauffmann)
