Aida, derived from Dr. Ko Aida, Professor Emeritus, The University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, who contributed to the biochemical and the taxonomical studies of acetic acid bacteria, especially in isolation and structure elucidation of γ- pyrone compounds produced by acetic acid bacteria [probably better: Aidella]
