Etymology: al.ber.ta’no.ae. N.L. gen. fem. n. albertanoae, given in the honor of the phycologist Patrizia Albertano, who devoted a great part of her research career to the study of Leptolyngbyaceae and who gave a precious contribution to the first paper on strain ETS-08 (i.e., Moro et al., 2010)
