Etymology: na.ka’za.wae. N.L. gen. masc. n. nakazawae, of Nakazawa, named in honour of Japanese microbiologist Futoshi Nakazawa who is our research colleague, for his contributions to the taxonomic study of oral bacteria and specifically the genus Veillonella
