🧍 Baumann et al. deposited the type strain of Vibrio pelagius (Beneckea pelagia) at the American Type Culture Collection as ATCC 25916, and at the National Collections of Industrial Food and Marine Bacteria as NCIMB (formerly NCMB) 1900. According to Macián et al. 2000, the strain ATCC 25916 and strains directly derived from ATCC 25916 (i.e. strain CECT 4202) really represent the originally described type strain whereas strain NCIMB 1900 and strains derived from NCIMB 1900 (i.e. strain CIP 102762) highly likely are representatives of Vibrio natriegens (Payne et al. 1961) Baumann et al. 1981.Publication:

Thompson FL, Thompson CC, Dias GM, Naka H, Dubay C, Crosa JH. The genus Listonella MacDonell and Colwell 1986 is a later heterotypic synonym of the genus Vibrio Pacini 1854 (Approved Lists 1980)--a taxonomic opinion. Int J Syst Evol Microbiol 2011; 61:3023-3027.
