Nomenclatural type: C204; clone M1-48 of Paramecium caudatum containing Holospora undulata in its micronuclei has been deposited in the culture collection of the Laboratory of Invertebrate Zoology, Biological Research Institute, Leningrad University; the type is the original description and illustration of Hafkine (Ann. Inst. Pasteur Paris, 1890, 4, 148-162.)
